RM 62-01 Manual Winding Tourbillon Vibrating Alarm ACJ Limited Edition

Richard Mille and Airbus Corporate Jets launch a new travel watch called the RM 62-01 Tourbillon Vibrating Alarm Airbus Corporate Jets.

The second collaboration with Airbus

This is the second collaborative watch made by Richard Mille together with Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ), the Airbus subsidiary commercializing bespoke private aircraft. It is recognizable thanks to its oval crystal that looks like an airplane window.

Vibrating alarm

The timepiece features a practical vibrating alarm that discretely informs its wearer of a designated time. Most alarms function using a chime that is created using a hammer, but the RM 62-01 alarm is totally silent, emitting a vibration only the wearer can perceive. Vibrations are not particularly friendly to a mechanical wristwatch, creating a whole host of technical issues to be solved.

Five years of research and development

This timepiece took five years of research and development, along with four partial prototypes, 816 parts, two barrels, 7 hands, 11 displays, and a tourbillon.

Business travelers

The timepiece features information that is extremely useful to the business traveler, such as a UTC indicator for a second-time zone, a vibrating alarm, an oversize date at 12 o’clock and a power reserve indicator. The alarm is wound by pressing the pusher 12 times.

The watch comes in titanium and Carbon TPT®, a combination that provides the perfect weight to stiffness ratio and deflects the alarm vibrations to the wrist and not the movement. The piece is limited to 30 pieces.
